With the Trade Deadline vastly approaching, you couldn't expect the Chicago White Sox to go without making a move to combat the Detroit Tigers. They, after all, acquired Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez from the Miami Marlins earlier in the week. So when push came to shove, the White Sox came back with a move of their own. Their Twitter account confirmed (and were first to report) that the team had acquired Francisco Liriano from the Minnesota Twins. In exchange, the Twins will be getting IF Eduardo Escobar and LHP Pedro Hernandez.
Liriano is currently 3-10 with a 5.31 ERA. He has 109 K in 100 IP (9.81 K/9) and 55 BB.
