IN case you have been asleep, or living under a rock for the last couple of hours, you may not have realized that Felix Hernandez of the Seattle Mariners threw a perfect game this afternoon against the Tampa Bay Rays. Felix joins Matt Cain and Philip Humber as the third pitcher to throw a perfect game in the 2012 MLB season and is now an exclusive member of the perfecto club, which now features 23 pitchers, 21 of them being in the modern era. In a story of depressing manner, San Francisco Giants OF Melky Cabrera tested positive for testosterone and was subsequently suspended for 50 games, which will end his season and the suspension will carry over to the Postseason if the Giants make it to the postseason. Cabrera, the 2012 MLB All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, was hitting .346 and was on pace to have the best season of his entire career. The positive test reportedly came at the All-Star Break, according to Andrew Baggs of CSN Bay Area. Cabrera would go on to issue this statement:

"My positive test was the result of my use of a substance I should not have used ... I am deeply sorry for my mistake." - Melky Cabrera.
