There's news out of E-Town tonight. Forward Ales Hemsky has agreed to a 2-year $10 million extension with the Edmonton Oilers according to TSN. Hemsky had been the subject of trade talk as the trade deadline was looming and for a while was on the trading block while trying to negotiate this deal. The idea had been that if he could not agree to terms with the Oilers, he would be dealt. Looks like Edmonton will not have to worry about trading Hemsky and he can continue playing with their young corp of Taylor Hall and Ryan "don't call me Ted" Nugent-Hopkins for at least the next two seasons.
