File this under the no-brainer department: the Houston Texans agreed to re-sign their franchise running back this morning and did so in a big, big way. Arian Foster now has a brand new contract, according to basically every news source out there, worth 43.5 million dollars over the next five years and 20.75 million guaranteed. What does this mean? Well, it pretty much means that Houston will continue to arguably have the best running back tandem in the league (alongside Ben Tate) for at least the next five seasons, and will also arguably have the best running back in the National Football League for the next five seasons as well. Houston's made great strides over the last year and now with the franchise tag deadline having been passed, it's going to be in question whether or not Mario Williams, their first round draft pick in 2006 will be wearing a different uniform for the first time in his career.
