Rookie 3rd baseman Brett Lawrie of the Toronto Blue Jays really did not do a good job of keeping his cool tonight in a game against the Tampa Bay Rays. After he struck out looking and believed that he was walked not once, but twice, Lawrie flared his emotions in a way that will definitely be grabbing Bud Selig's attention. In the words of former WCBS sports anchor Warren Wolf, let's go to the video tape.
Now as you can see, Lawrie clearly went berserk on umpire Bill Miller as he launched his helmet in his vicinity and wound up hitting him and as if that wasn't enough, as you can see, Miller was doused with what was most likely a fine cup of Canadian beer. Clearly not a good sequence for all involved, but do not be surprised in the least if Brett Lawrie misses significant time for that outburst.
