The Worst Call in Sports This Year Just Happened

(H/T Fangraphs)
Apparently, this constitutes as an out these days.

Major League Baseball has always given me personal gripes with their "neighborhood" calls when it comes to outs. There have been several instances that this has stuck out like a sore thumb but this call might be one of the worst I've seen in a long time. Yes, Jerry Hairston Jr. (right) was called out on this play which was ruled 5-3 as Todd Helton apparently can do no wrong and the umpire (not pictured but to the left of him) ruled him out. He may have been in front of him and only seen that but wouldn't another umpire bring up this incredibly egregious error?

Expand your replay already Major League Baseball. Enough is enough.

All credit goes to Fangraphs for this one.
