Zack Greinke Traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

(Credit: Associated Press)
Last off season the Milwaukee Brewers traded for Zack Greinke, who just two seasons ago at the time won the AL Cy Young Award. Since that point the Brewers had 1 1/2 years of him, and he proved to still be one of the best pitchers in baseball and helped the Brewers get to the League Championship Series for the first time since 1982. However, due to a less than stellar season, and contract extension talks being far apart, both sides could not come to an agreement, and last night, Greinke was traded away from Milwaukee.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim traded for the star pitcher last night, acquiring him from Milwaukee for three of their best prospects. (via Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi of FOX Sports) The Angels sent Jean Segura (#1 prospect in the Angels farm system), Johnny Hellweg (#4 prospect in the Angels farm system), and Ariel Pena (#9 prospect in the Angels farm system) to the Cream City.

Garden State Sports Guy should provide a breakdown of this trade by the end of the night.
