Welcome to the first annual NBA Free Agentpalooza. Here in this post you will find all free agent musings, rumors, and signings that occur during this NBA offseason. These will be posted in realtime, so I will try to update this as much as I can. Free Agency is just under a half hour from beginning and there are already some rumors going around the league.
6/30:
- Dwight Howard reportedly wants to be traded to the Brooklyn Nets according to Chris Broussard of ESPN. Hoopsworld is reporting this as well and Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld is reporting that Dwight is looking for a way to nullify his opt-in clause, subsequently becoming a free agent this upcoming summer. Kennedy sas that this is incredibly unlikely to happen, so let Dwight-drama continue.
- The New Jersey Nets and Atlanta Hawks are reportedly discussing a trade that involves Joe Johnson, according to Yahoo! Sports. There has been nothing close to a deal in the words of Adrian Wojnarowski, but they have repeatedly gone back and forth he goes on to say. Woj also reported later that the Nets may pursue free agent O.J. Mayo if they cannot work this deal out.
- Brandon Roy met with the Minnesota Timberwolves and their officials on Friday, says Yahoo! Sports.
- O.J. Mayo is attracting many suitors according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports. The Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and Indiana Pacers are all possible landing spots for the former third overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.
- The Houston Rockets are going to be meeting with former Chicago Bull Omer Asik. That information is coming straight from General Manager Daryl Morey.
7/1:

- Ken Berger of CBS Sports is reporting that the Indiana Pacers' first priority is to take care of Roy Hibbert and George Hill. Both Hill and Hibbert are restricted free agents.
- K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Houston Rockets are preparing to offer Omer Asik a contract in the $8 million rage. Asik is currently meeting with the Rockets and GM Daryl Morey.
- Chris Broussard of ESPN tweeted that free agent Eric Gordon is going to be meeting with the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, the Houston Rockets on Monday, and the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Broussard also mentioned the Portland Trail Blazers will be meeting with Broussard on Tuesday, and he could possibly talk with the Charlotte Bobcats and the Dallas Mavericks.
- Eric Gordon is looking for a max contract, worth $58 million over 4 years, according to Chris Broussard.
- Jordan Hill, formerly of the Los Angeles Lakers, is meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski.
- Goran Dragic says he is not going anywhere unless he knows that he is a starter, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski.
- Yahoo! Sports' sources (from Woj) say that Omer Asik will also meet with the Portland Trail Blazers.
- Alex Kennedy tweeted that the Toronto Raptors are choosing to aggressively pursue Steve Nash, as opposed to trading for Houston Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry. Nash will be getting an offer worth $12 million annually for 3 years according to Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.
- John Hollinger tweeted that the Portland Trail Blazers are out on Steve Nash. Though this had to be obvious after they drafted Damian Lillard from Weber State on Thursday night.
- The Dwight Howard saga is just beginning -- again. Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Orlando Magic are reentering trade discussions for the All-NBA center.
- The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly offered Roy Hibbert a max contract, according to Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.
- Gerald Wallace is returning to the Brooklyn Nets. Wallace agreed to terms on a 4 year, $40M contract according to Yahoo! Sports and the New York Post.
- The Boston Celtics are reportedly pursuing Jason Terry, due to the fact that they do not expect Ray Allen to return.
- CSN Northwest is reporting that the Minnesota Timberwolves extended an offer to restricted free agent Nicolas Batum. The offer according to Chris Haynes is worth $45-50M.
- Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that the Atlanta Hawks are now focused on moving Joe Johnson rather than Josh Smith. He later added that if the Hawks and Brooklyn Nets cannot come to terms on a trade today, then the Nets will pursue O.J. Mayo, as previously reported.
- JaVale McGee and his reps are going to be discussing an extension in Los Angeles with the Denver Nuggets, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski.
- Rudy Fernandez was not given a qualifying offer from the Denver Nuggets, so he is a free agent, tweets Ken Berger of CBS Sports.
- Chris Broussard of ESPN tweets that the Boston Celtics will offer double what the Miami Heat will offer for Ray Allen.
- Marc Stein of ESPN tweets that the Toronto Raptors and Steve Nash are currently meeting in New York City. He also adds that they are trying to trade Jose Calderon to avoid using their amnesty clause on him.
- Ken Berger of CBS Sports gave some info regarding the Phoenix Suns earlier today. Lon Babby, the team president, confirmed that the team will meet with guards Eric Gordon, Raymond Felton, and Goran Dragic. The contingent of Alvin Gentry, the head coach of the Suns, will meet with Michael Beasley as well as restricted free agent Robin Lopez.
- Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports also gave some info earlier today. He tweeted that Brandon Bass is interested in re-signing with the Boston Celtics, but the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, and Atlanta Hawks are all interested in and intrigued. He also went on to say that Rashard Lewis will gather interest from the Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Celtics, and Hawks.
- The Memphis Grizzlies have offered a full midlevel contract to Ray Allen, according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.
- Jason Terry continues to gather interest. According to Marc Spears, Terry is getting interest from the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, and his former team, the Dallas Mavericks.
- Sports Illustrated is reporting that Steve Nash not only has offers on the table from the Toronto Raptors, but also the New York Knicks.
- Nick Young is reportedly attracting suitors. New Orleans, Indiana, Brooklyn, and Boston are all possible landing spots for Young according to his agent tweets Dave McMenamin of ESPNLA.com.
- In an update to a story from yesterday, Omer Asik and the Houston Rockets have agreed to a 3-year, $25M deal via an offer sheet according to Yahoo! Sports. The Chicago Bulls have three days to match after July 11, which they reportedly will.
- David Aldridge of TNT and NBA.com is reporting that Roy Hibbert is leaning towards signing the max offer sheet offered to him by the Portland Trail Blazers, and that the Indiana Pacers are mulling whether or not to match.
- The Philadelphia 76ers and Lavoy Allen have come to terms on a 2-year, $6+ million contract according to Yahoo! Sports.
- Marc J. Spears reported that Andre Miller and the Denver Nuggets agreed to a 3-year deal to have the point guard return to Denver.
- The Los Angeles Clippers are in the advanced stages of talks with free agent Jamal Crawford, according to Hoopsworld.
7/2:
- Brandon Roy has finished his visits with Minnesota and Dallas, and has to complete visits with Chicago, Indiana, and Golden State before he comes to a decision according to Hoopsworld.
- The Los Angeles Lakers signed guard Darius Morris to a qualifying offer, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. He later tweeted that the offer was for $962,000.
- Chris Broussard of ESPN says that the Phoenix Suns have not made an offer to point guard Steve Nash.
- The Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks came to terms on a trade sending Joe Johnson to Brooklyn for Jordan Williams, Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow, and DeShawn Stevenson to Atlanta according to Yahoo! Sports.
- The L.A. Clippers are the frontrunners for Jamal Crawford, but Philadelphia, Boston, Minnesota and Phoenix all remain interested according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
- Hoopsworld says that Devin Ebanks has drawn interest from the Thunder, Nets, Hawks, 76ers and Magic.
- The Brooklyn Nets and Deron Williams met last night and according to the Nets, they had a good meeting with the free agent point guard according to Yahoo! Sports. David Aldridge reported that Williams also met with the Dallas Mavericks earlier during the day.
- The Indiana Pacers had a very positive meeting with free agent center Chris Kaman, according to Yahoo! Sports.
- The Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz agreed to terms on a trade sending Devin Harris to Atlanta for Marvin Williams, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
7/3:
- The Phoenix Suns want to pay Goran Dragic between $8-9M annually, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
- The Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic are discussing a possible trade where Dwight Howard would be sent to the Nets for Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, Marshon Brooks as well as the Nets' 2013, 2015, and 2017 first round picks, according to Chris Broussard. (Second Link)
- The Brooklyn Nets are looking for a third team to facilitate the above trade according to Chris Broussard.
- Ray Allen is meeting with the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers according to Hoopsworld.
- Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Orlando Magic's top target is the Los Angeles Lakers' Andrew Bynum.
- Marc Stein is reporting (as well as Sportscenter) that the Toronto Raptors and restricted free agent Landry Fields have agreed to a three-year offer sheet.
- Jason Terry and the Boston Celtics are close to a multi-year deal according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
- Chris Broussard is reporting that free agent guard Jeremy Lin is visiting the Houston Rockets tomorrow.
- Jonathan Feigen reports that the Houston Rockets will offer a similar deal to Goran Dragic that the Phoenix Suns will be offering also.
- BIG NEWS! Free agent Deron Williams has decided to stay with the Nets when they make the trip over to the Hudson in Brooklyn, he confirmed via his personal Twitter account. Marc Stein of ESPN tweeted that the deal is for 5 years, worth $100 million.
- Eric Gordon agreed to sign a max offer sheet with the Phoenix Suns, worth $58 million over 4 years, per Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic. New Orleans is expected to match, but Gordon wants out.
- David Aldridge of TNT and NBA.com is reporting that the Los Angeles Lakers are aggressively pursuing free agent point guard Steve Nash.
7/4:
- Via the "Ball Don't Lie" blog on Yahoo! Sports, Rudy Fernandez is leaving the Association to play for Real Madrid for the next three seasons. The deal according to ESPN's Marc Stein is for 9 million Euros.
- George Hill re-signed with the Indiana Pacers on a 5-year, $40 million deal, according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld.
- Michael Beasley is a Phoenix Sun, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
- Steve Nash was dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers for multiple draft picks, reported here by Adrian Wojnarowski.
7/5:
- Goran Dragic is going to the Phoenix Suns on a 4-year, $34M deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
- Brandon Roy is back in the NBA and he's going to the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to this tweet from Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld.
