If you haven't already heard about superstar recruit Andrew Wiggins, now might be the time to start looking around.
The No. 1 recruit in North America announced today, via a report from USA Today Sports from Eric Prisbell, will be reclassifying to join the 2013 recruiting class. This means that next year, he will be playing college basketball in the United States. This also means that he will continue to remain as the #1 recruit in the nation and take that designation away from Jabari Parker, the current No. 1 recruit in the country for the Class of 2013.
Wiggins, 17, will be making this announcement when he feels comfortable to, according to the USA Today Sports article. Wiggins currently goes to Huntington Prep in the state of West Virginia.
Andrew Wiggins' game has been touted by the best college basketball scouts and writers all over the country. After his performance at the Peach Jam a few months back, he supplanted Jabari Parker from Simeon Vocational High School in Chicago, Illinois as the No. 1 recruit in North America, even with the fact that he was in the Class of 2014. At least that was the belief among many pundits.
Wiggins currently has the choices of (no particular order) Duke, North Carolina, Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State, and Syracuse in his Top 7. Should he go to Kentucky, with the class that they already possess, and heaven forbid they get Julius Randle, that might be the best recruiting haul in the history of the sport.
All eyes are now on this Canadian-made prodigy, and frankly, as a basketball fan, you should be excited about this and start to wonder how this young man could possibly dominate not only college basketball, but the NBA also.
